Fendt 313 Vario wins “TRACTOR DE ESPAÑA 2016” award at the FIMA

The Fendt 313 was chosen “Tractor of the Year 2016” in Spain. Spanish Agricultural Minister Isabel Garcia Tejerina handed over the award at the awards ceremony on the 16th of February, the opening day of the FIMA.

Fendt 313 Vario wins “TRACTOR DE ESPAÑA 2016” award at the FIMA

The Fendt 313 was chosen “Tractor of the Year 2016” in Spain. Spanish Agricultural Minister Isabel Garcia Tejerina handed over the award at the awards ceremony on the 16th of February, the opening day of the FIMA.

The Fendt 313 Vario with the new Tier 4 Final emissions convinced the jury comprising 10 technical experts. “We are pleased that the new Fendt 313 Vario won this award,” says Christian Erkens, Director for Fendt Sales Region EAME. “This very compact 138-hp tractor has convincing technical features: load relief front linkage control and electric valves. The linkage and joystick are directly integrated in the new Variocenter.” José Ramón González Casagran, Fendt Sales Manager in Spain adds, “The new Fendt 300 Vario in the power class from 110 – 138 hp is an absolute all-rounder for Spanish farmers. In the new Fendt VisioPlus cab, the driver looks through a one-piece panoramic windscreen, which gives him an unobstructed view in all directions as well as to the wheel arches.”

One year a ago, the Fendt 300 Vario with the new Tier 4 Final emissions was chosen “Machine of the Year” at the SIMA in Paris.

The "TRACTOR DE ESPAÑA“ Award is the most important award for tractors on the Iberian Peninsula.

The “TRACTOR DE ESPAÑA 2016” was handed over by the Spanish Minister for Agriculture, Isabel García Tejerine, when she visited the Fendt Stand. She took the opportunity to climb up into the cab, where the innovative technology was explained to her.

Some 800,000 tractors are currently operating on farms in Spain; every third one is over 20 years old. The average age for tractors is 15 years. To boost the agricultural economy, a major branch of industry in Spain, García Tejerina announced a new financing plan for farmers, amounting to 5 million euros.


Luis Márquez, Professor for Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnical University of Madrid, handed over the certificates.

Three awards for innovations

Fendt was also honoured with three additional awards for innovations at the FIMA.

The new drive train in the Fendt 1000 Vario, Fendt VarioDrive, received Gold.

Fendt received two Silver medals, one for the new Fendt VarioGrip Pro tyre regulation system and the hay rake with electric integral drive, the Fendt Former 12555X.

Spanish farmers’ interest in modern machines is good – the Fendt stand was full of interested visitors every day.

The Fima was held in Zaragoza from the 16th to 20th of February. Everybody wanted to visit the Fendt stand.
The biggest amongst the standard tractors: the Fendt 1000 Vario was a main attraction.
Fendt collects money for the needy. The proceeds from the sale of drinks including a cup, went to the food bank organisation.

The FIMA is the largest and most important trade fair for agricultural machinery on the Iberian Peninsula.

Some 1357 exhibitors from 38 countries present their products on more than 150,000 square metres at the fairgrounds in Zaragoza.
