Top awards for Fendt at the Fendt trade fair

Fendt came home with the Tractor Of The Year (Special Tractor category) award plus 5 DLG silver medals on the first day of Agritechnica. The 24 judges on the international panel for Tractor Of The Year were impressed with the New Fendt 211 V Vario, with its outstanding 3-cylinder AGCO power engine drive and stepless Vario transmission. The silver medals were awarded for the new large combine Fendt IDEAL, the VarioPull system with its perfect tractor/implement weight distribution, the E100 Vario all-electric tractor and the Fendt Xaver, which uses field robots in swarms of all sizes for sowing. The fifth silver medal was awarded for DKE's agrirouter™, a data exchange platform between machines and implements from different manufacturers. Agco is a founding member of the DKE consortium.

Fendt 211 V Vario is Tractor Of The Year 2018 – Special Tractors Category

The new 200 V/F/P Vario sees the best features from the High-HP Tractor sector integrated into the smaller series, and Fendt now offers this as a track guidance package. Orchards, hop fields and vineyards can now also benefit from the commercial and ecological advantages offered by a guidance system. The 3.3 cc tractor with a 3-cylinder AGCO power engine is now emissions stage 3b (Tier 4 Interim), and includes a number of tried and tested advanced in-house features from AGCO/Fendt.

Silver for the new Fendt IDEAL large combine

The Fendt IDEAL is AGCO's biggest development project to date, a combine developed completely from the ground up. IDEAL is a unique combine that comes in three models offering 451, 538 and 647 hp. The Fendt IDEAL 9 and IDEAL 8 feature high-performance MAN engines with the IDEAL 7 sporting an AGCO power engine. This ensures maximum output together with efficient fuel consumption. The new Helix threshing and separating system and the longest rotor on the market at an impressive 4.84 m long and 600 mm in diameter are just a few of the new machine's highlights. Another top feature is the large combine's level of automation: just select the driving mode then let the MAD sensors inside the combine run the entire machine continuously and fully automatically.

Fendt VarioPull: trendsetting innovation awarded with silver

The basic principle of VarioPull is to shift the weight from the rear to the front axle to perfectly distribute the axle load and thereby prevent any cancelling out, to protect the soil and guide any sized tyre to its ultimate traction capacity. The purpose of the Fendt VarioPull is to set the ideal load distribution between the axles, taking into account varying implement support loads. In doing so, the tongue weight is shifted as far as possible from the rear axle to front axle. VarioPull does this by drawing the coupling point, for example the lower link hook, as close as possible to the rear axle using a hydro-mechanical locking cylinder. This lowers the lever arm between coupling point and rear axle, and therefore reduces the load relief on the front axle.

"The future is here today" wins silver

AGCO/Fendt has made a name for itself in the electrification of agriculture. For many years, Fendt has been developing practical solutions for the efficient use of electrical propulsion systems. The Fendt e100 Vario is a practical, all-electric compact tractor with 50 kW power output, which can operate for up to 5 hours under actual operating conditions. The energy source is a 650 V high-capacity lithium-ion battery with a capacity of around 100 kWh. The battery is charged either with 400 V and up to 22 kW via a standard CEE outdoor socket, or by a supercharging option with direct voltage. With a standard CCS type 2 plug, the battery can be recharged up to 80% in just 40 minutes. In addition, energy can be recovered thanks to the use of an electric motor.

Fendt Xaver uses small robots operating in swarms and a cloud-based solution to plan, monitor and accurately document the precise planting of corn. Satellite navigation and data management in the cloud allows operations to be conducted round the clock, with permanent access to all data. The position and planting time of each seed is accurately recorded. Knowing exactly where the seed has been planted opens up new potential for the rest of the process, since subsequent operations over the plant cycle, such as protecting or fertilising plants, can be performed precisely according to the individual plant.
