MARKTOBERDORF (sm). The Fendt 936 Vario tractor has been awarded the silver Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. The awards ceremony was held on Friday, 9 February 2007, as part of the opening event for the Ambiente trade fair on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds.

From the jury's statement: "The newly designed, transparent bonnet, the numerous well-thought out lighting elements and the spacious transparent cab, which communicates a feeling of openness, are the first exceptional design features that catch one's eye when taking a closer look at the Fendt 936 Vario tractor. Ergonomic aspects have been incorporated in the design of the cab as well as considerations regarding driving safety and ride comfort. The example of the Fendt 936 Vario shows that this high horsepower tractor not only meets the newest technological demands of professional farmers, but also the high aesthetic demands for design quality in the top segment."

The Fendt team is proud of this high award: "The 936 Vario has been designed to communicate a feeling of competent power and modern technology from the very first impression. The Design Award proves that we have succeeded in doing this very well", said Dr. Heribert Reiter, Managing Director of Research and Development at AGCO Fendt in Marktoberdorf.

The traditional Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany is the most important award for product design in the country. The hurdles are high: only products that have received at least one high-level award are permitted to participate in the competition. This year, the top-class jury chose winners from 940 entries. The awards included 5 gold awards and 20 silver awards.
