Fendt 1000 Vario wins iF Design Award Gold

On the 26th of February, the Gold winners of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2016 were honoured as part of a glamorous awards ceremony in the BMW World Munich. From over 5,300 submitted products from more than 50 countries, only 75 were honoured with the distinction Gold. The Fendt 1000 Vario received Gold in the category “Product”.

The international jury, comprising 58 top-level design experts, based their decisions on criteria such as aesthetics, design quality, craftsmanship, degree of innovation, user-friendliness/ergonomics, brand design, safety, environmental compatibility and target group fit. The Fendt 1000 Vario was able to convince the experts, both with its design concept as well as in a practical assessment.

The iF DESIGN AWARD has been awarded since 1953. The Fendt 1000 Vario received Gold in the category “Product”.
A jury of 58 highly-acclaimed international experts evaluated all the submitted products from the 19th to 21st of January 2016 in Hamburg.

The jury’s verdict:

“This tractor takes a bold stance and has a striking presence. A high level of refinement is apparent in every detail: structural elements, technical components, interior ergonomics, HMI and exterior bodywork. A holistically elaborated project, due to the successful combination of spot-on technical performance as a utility vehicle and contemporary design.”

The world’s biggest standard tractor stands on the top step in the discipline “Automobiles/Vehicles/Bikes” together with the Audi A4, MAN combi coach Lion`s Intercity and the FXX K from Ferrari.

An evening to rejoice: Designer Tom Maier( right ) and Jan Weigand (left) as well as the head of the product area for high-horsepower tractors, Robert Heisler, are pleased about the iF DESIGN AWARD Gold.

“I am proud that we can distinguish ourselves from the wealth of well-designed products time and again,” says Fendt Design Manager Tom Maier, pleased about the iF DESIGN AWARD Gold. “With the Fendt 1000 Vario, we have developed a completely new draft vehicle with many technical innovations. The design also sets itself apart from the Vario range, for example, with its new Fendt Life Cab or the integral bonnet headlamps. And despite this, one can clearly recognise the Fendt in it by its compact design and workmanship,” says Maier.
