DLG Image Barometer 2018 – Fendt regains the top spot for brand image

For the fifth time since 2014, DLG conducted a phone survey to ask around 700 leading farmers what they thought of agricultural companies in terms of brand strength and loyalty, brand awareness and positioning.

"In the agricultural equipment category, Fendt made further tracks on its leading position of last year. As in previous years, the Marktoberdorf-based company comes top in three out of four categories in the brand image index – by a clear margin," says DLG, describing the latest results.

"We are delighted that farmers have again rated us the best brand in the industry in this independent survey," said Roland Schmidt, Vice President Marketing Fendt. "After launching our Fendt Full-Line range and establishing our new products on the market, it makes it all the more exciting to earn the businesses' highest recognition for agricultural equipment."

To glean clearer results in the larger farms category – those with over 1,000 hectares of usable land – the German Agricultural Society (DLG) included more large businesses in this year's survey than in previous years. This meant the average cultivated area of those farms surveyed grew to a total of 322 hectares. "Fendt retains the top spot across all three business sizes," said DLG's report.

DLG also took the age factor into account in its survey. "Fendt can again claim leadership as far as young farm managers are concerned," DLG said.
