“We always wanted to do this trip, but we thought we’d wait until one us was an adult. My birthday was last Thursday and I have some leave, so we decided to grab the opportunity!”, says Christopher Grotholt, standing proudly with Lukas Höper in front of the Fendt Farmer 306 LSA. He is doing a course in agriculture and is in his third year. His friend Lukas is also about to begin his studies at AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG as an agricultural and construction machine technician.
They have both enjoyed a real adventure. Their first stage was a stop in Limburg an der Lahn, where they spent the night on a dairy farm. On the second day they passed through Schefflenz on the way to Albsee Lake. After a hot day, this offered the chance of a refreshing swim and a camp for the night. On the third day they drove directly to the Fendt plant in Marktoberdorf, and proudly presented their tractor to the Fendt Forum.
Lukas’ grandad’s tractor has already taught many of the neighbours’ children to drive, and is still in daily use at home on the farm. The venerable machine already has 25,000 hours on the clock, and has never needed any major repairs. The tractor still has all the original parts from 1982, and still contributes more than 1,000 working hours a year to the farm.
We hope that this Fendt continues to teach more children to drive, and wish Christopher and Lukas a safe journey home.
