German national team sweeps the board at CHIO 2017

From the 14th to 23rd July 2017, the CHIO took place in Aachen and the German national teams presented themselves at the top of their game during the World Equestrian Festival. The German teams proved their superiority in the discipline of dressage, show jumping and eventing. Victoriously claiming all Nations Cups has laid the perfect foundation for the upcoming 2017 European Championships.

German dressage team wins the Nation’s Cup in Aachen

With superiority the German dressage team won the Nation’s Cup at CHIO Aachen and beat the teams from the USA and Sweden. The German team won the Nation’s Cup for the 37th time since 1977. The winning team was composed of Isabell Werth, Sönke Rothenberger, Dorothee Schneider and Hubertus Schmidt.

German show jumpers win the prestigious Nation’s Cup of Aachen

For the second time in a row the German show jumping team won the local Nation’s Cup at the CHIO Aachen on Thursday night. The German jumping quartet rode to victory with two flawless tours on a highly-emotional night in front of a crowd of 40,000 in the Soers area in Aachen, and a television audience of millions. The team of Marcus Ehning, Philipp Weishaupt, Maurice Tebbel und Marco Kutscher celebrated their deserved victory, and savored the moment while being celebrated by the crowd during their lap of honour. Switzerland secured the second place, while the hotly favoured Americans placed third.

The invincible German eventing team

After all three disciplines, the German eventing team of Ingrid Klimke, Michael Jung, Sandra Auffarth and Josefa Sommer had a huge lead over the rest of the field. With a 45 point lead, the German team of national trainer Hans Melzer prevailed against the competition from Australia. In the individual competition, Ingrid Klimke achieved a tight victory over Michael Jung. Sandra Auffarth placed 4th.

Fendt: Main Sponsor German Equestrian National Team

At least until 2026, the company Fendt is main sponsor of the German equestrian national team for the disciplines dressage, jumping and eventing. Whenever the athletes ride for Germany at nations cups or championships, they will wear Fendt branded clothing.
