North America: Two Fendt tractors receive AE50 2026 Awards

In mid-February, the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ASABE) presented this year's US AE50 Awards in the run-up to the National Farm Machinery Show. This year, the ASABE honored the Fendt 800 Vario and the new generation of the Fendt 1000 Vario.

"Both the Fendt 800 Vario and the Fendt 1000 Vario series were developed specifically for farmers worldwide. Thanks to the wide range of equipment options available, the machines can be customized to meet the needs of farmers Europe or North America, for instance, with regard to tires, track width, and the option of a self-cleaning air filter.

This award shows that our engineers are meeting the demands of different customer groups with innovative solutions," says Christoph Gröblinghoff, Chairman of the Fendt Management Board. "Since 2020, 16 Fendt products have already been honored with the prestigious A50 Awards, and this year Fendt received two. We are particularly pleased about this."

Among other things, the North American Fendt team presented the new Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 at the National Farm Machinery Show. The tradeshow took place from February 11 to 14 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. The Fendt 1000 Vario was first unveiled to the public at the Farm Progress Show, the largest agricultural technology trade fair in the US. Each February, a jury of agricultural technology experts presents the AE50 Award to 50 selected agricultural technology developments or products at the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference (AETC). The award-winning solutions are characterized by the highest level of innovation, significant technical progress, and market influence. The conference traditionally takes place in the run-up to a major tradeshow.

Fendt 1000 Vario

The fourth generation of the world's largest standard tractor, the Fendt 1000 Vario, offers a powerful 550 hp engine in a compact, maneuverable frame with VarioDrive technology. To work particularly efficiently, the power levels can be reduced to suit the task and attachment at hand. This reduces fuel consumption and protects the attachments. All four models in the series can be fitted with the VarioGrip tire pressure control system. For added comfort, the cab can now be fitted with footrests, a massage seat, and the new UltraVision lighting concept.

About the AE50 Award

Since 1986, the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ASABE), founded in 1907, has honored the 50 most significant agricultural technology innovations each year. This year marks the 32nd annual ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference, which takes place in the run-up to the National Farm Machinery Show.

Ten of the innovations that have received the AE50 Award are eligible to compete for the Davidson Prize. Three innovations will be selected to receive this prize, which will be announced during Commodity Classic 2026 in San Antonio, Texas, USA, from February 25 - 27.
