A new office building promises to offer even more space for Fendt's R&D engineers. Construction work is due to start mid-February at the Fendt factory site on Micheletalweg.
Fendt tractors and harvesters are high-tech machines, and to reflect this, the planned 5-storey building will create around 125 jobs. The team of engineers will work on digitisation, electrics and electronics, with the premises accommodating employees from the existing Fendt Development team as well as new recruits. Teams will be closely positioned so they can coordinate well with each other.
The footprint for the new building is already being prepared on the Fendt site
The new workplaces will foster a modern working concept, designed for the most positive collaboration in flexible teams. There will be quiet areas for focused work as well as modular meeting rooms and open meeting points. "Our high-tech machines already allow for automated work processes, easy controls and automatic data acquisition for documentation, with extensive software and electronics applications embedded. In this age of digitisation, we will see a dramatic increase in the networking of systems," says Dr. Heribert Reiter, Managing Director for Research and Development at AGCO/Fendt. "As such, our Research and Development department is hiring mechanical engineers as well as increasing numbers of electronics experts and IT specialists. The new premises will offer the best conditions for them to work on smart ideas and solutions of the future. We are delighted that AGCO is continuing its investment in Fendt's Marktoberdorf site."
Fendt researchers and developers are expected to move into the new building from May 2021.
