Leading figures in agricultural technology founded the "Club of Bologna" in 1989 to discuss topics of particular importance for the agricultural technology sector, independently and across the board.

The Club of Bologna currently has 93 members from 27 countries representing different groups. These include universities and research centres, agricultural equipment manufacturers, international organisations and experts, as well as consultants.

The members meet once a year at an international agricultural technology fair, such as the EIMA in Bologna, Agritechnica in Hanover and Agrilevante in Bari. These meetings address current trends and developments with the aim of developing collective recommendations for policies, research, manufacturers and international bodies.
