Fendt 900 Vario awarded "Machine of the Year 2020"

The Fendt 900 Vario picked up two prizes at the Machine of the Year 2020 award ceremony on 12 November. Fendt won both the Audience Choice Award (formerly the Audience Award) and Machine of the Year in the high-horsepower tractor category for its new Fendt 900 Vario.

general public

The specialist editors on the judging panel were impressed with the technical innovations and versatility of the Fendt 900 Vario. Strong in performance yet low in fuel consumption, it sets new standards in its power class. It has an all-new MAN 6-cylinder engine and VarioDrive powertrain for optimum traction. With its intelligent torque distribution, the Fendt 900 Vario delivers maximum power even on turns. The design of the machine also swayed the decision in favour of the Fendt 900 Vario in the high-horsepower tractor category.

The Fendt 900 Vario was very well received by the general public, claiming the Audience Choice Award. Most of the 30,000 or so participants voted online for the Fendt 900 Vario. "The Audience Choice Award is particularly important to me, because farmers vote for us and rate our performance as a whole, not just for one machine. That's why the Audience Choice Award is more valuable to me than a Gold medal," said Peter-Josef Paffen, Chairman of the AGCO/Fendt Management Board, after the award ceremony.

A total of 53 machines from 36 manufacturers were nominated for the title of "Machine of the Year 2020" across 16 categories. 20 specialist editors from 11 countries awarded the prizes in the 15 different machine categories.
