The panel of judges for the Croatian Tractor of the Year is made up of five agricultural journalists, as well as representatives from the Faculty of Agronomics at the University of Osijek and the Croatian Chamber of Agriculture.

"All 14 nominated models are the epitome of modern agricultural machinery and technology, so our decision this year was particularly difficult," read the judges' statement. The Fendt 942 Vario won Gold in two categories, with the judges crowning the top model of the new 900-series as the winner both for 'Best Tractor of the Year' and best 'All-Purpose Tractor'. Criteria included performance and consumption, innovative solutions, ergonomics and versatility.

"The Fendt 942 Vario was developed as a versatile and powerful large tractor and has met with a very positive response internationally. We are delighted with the award for its versatility. It also reflects the positive trend that more and more farmers in Croatia are using professional agricultural technology on their farms," says Christian Erkens, Director Fendt Sales Europe and Middle East (EME).

About CroAgro

The trade fair in Zagreb is a showcase for both agricultural products and farming technology. About 17,000 visitors came to the exhibition grounds over four days and learned about the latest developments in agriculture.

About two thirds of Croatia's land is used for farming, mainly producing cereals, oil and pulses, sugar beet and potatoes besides livestock farming. The climate in some regions also allows special crops such as olives and grapes and fruit to be cultivated. More than 36% of Croatia is covered with forest, so farmers need technology for a variety of applications.
