Climate-friendly and resource-efficient production
Fendt favours renewable energies, efficient technologies and recycling in order to reduce emissions and conserve resources. By generating our own electricity, implementing modern energy-saving measures and recycling components, we are making our production climate-friendly and future-proof.
Sustainable production at Fendt
We are increasing our energy efficiency through measures such as the comprehensive switch to LED lighting at almost all Fendt locations in Germany. This saves around 2,3 Mio kWh of electricity a year.
In addition, we optimise our buildings through energy-efficient renovations, use well water for cooling and reduce energy consumption in production through modern technologies. In 2024, for example, we were able to reduce the electricity consumption of the server rooms at the Marktoberdorf site by 10 per cent compared to 2023 through optimisation.

Renewable energies, fewer emissions
Fendt covers over 60 per cent of its energy requirements from renewable sources and generates 2.4 GWh of its own electricity annually at four German plants. The purchased electricity comes 100 per cent from renewable sources, which has reduced our CO₂ emissions from energy consumption to zero according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Through these and other measures, we have reduced absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions at all German locations by 14 per cent between 2020 and 2024. We also save water through efficient technologies and our recycling programme almost completely minimises landfill waste.
Electrification of production processes
A key step towards reducing emissions is the electrification of our production processes – supported by the widespread use of green electricity at all German locations.
In addition to the existing natural gas-fuelled plant, an electric hardening plant was commissioned at the Marktoberdorf location in 2024. This expansion was necessary to cover increased production capacities. Compared to a conventional, purely natural gas-powered system, the new electric version saves around 460 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents per year.

Sustainable re-manufactured of components
In the AGCO REMAN programme, tractor components such as electronics, transmissions and engines are re-manufactured after intensive use. The process includes dismantling, cleaning and rebuilding to the latest standards. Around 4,000 products are available, of which approx. 1,000 are for Fendt machines.
Recycling conserves resources, avoids waste and reduces CO2 emissions. Some 386 tonnes of scrap metal were saved in 2024. Re-manufactured parts offer the same performance and reliability as new parts and must undergo the same testing processes. They also contribute to the circular economy.
