A nice surprise: Sauerlander wins a Fendt 514 Vario

When Christian Guntermann took part in a competition several months ago, he thought he had almost no chance of winning the tractor worth €150,000. In fact, he was so convinced he would not win that he had already bought a new tractor for his farm when he found out about his good fortune. So what to do now? Sell the tractor that he won? The 34-year old never considered it for a second, for he can put the 150 HP tractor to good use on his cattle farm.

“I wish I’d known about my win a bit earlier,” says Christian Guntermann with a smile. “But seriously, I was really excited about it.” He learned about his big win in spring, unfortunately just a month after the family’s new tractor arrived on the farm in Hallenberg-Liesen in the Sauerland. Despite this, the farmer doesn’t want to get rid of his first Fendt tractor, so the new Fendt 514 Vario with ProfiPlus is now the largest tractor on the Guntermann farm, and is ideal for heavy work thanks to its power.

Around 85 daily cows and 35 suckler cows live on the 120 hectare farm in the Sauerland. Christian Guntermann wants to use his grand prize mainly for arable farming, ploughing, in combination with his big disc harrow, seeder, slurry tank and wide pattern spreader. Thanks to his new Fendt tractor, this family man no longer needs to upgrade his old tractor fleet. “The ProfiPlus including steering system and section recording is of course a real boon for us,” says the farmer. “The Fendt is just on another level altogether with regard to ride comfort alone.”

On 26.07, the 34 year old brought along his family to collect the keys to his grand prize. The €150,000 tractor was presented at AGRAVIS Technik Lenne-Lippe GmbH, together with representatives from top agrar and profi magazines who had run the competition.
