TIM wins AE50 Award in USA

On February 11 at the Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference in Louisville/Kentucky, the AEF (Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation e.V.) was given the AE50 Award for its ISOBUS solution TIM (Tractor Implement Management). The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) awards the prestigious prize every year.

Mark Benishek (AEF Secretary), Norbert Schlingmann (AEF General Manager) and Peter van der Vlugt (AEF Chairman) accepted the AE50 Award for TIM in Louisville, Kentucky.

"Congratulations to the AEF on winning this award for its TIM ISOBUS solution – an innovative interface that significantly enhances communication between the tractor and its attachment," said Dr. Bernhard Schmitz, Director, EME Fuse & Commercial Services AGCO. "In its capacity as a founding member of the AEF, AGCO was pivotal in developing the TIM standard on interface certification."

Tractor Implement Management (TIM) is an ISOBUS solution that for the first time enables you to control the tractor from an attachment based on a ubiquitous standard, making work more efficient and more precise.

"Fendt already offers the TIM solution as an optional extra on ProfiPlus tractor models in the series Fendt 500 Vario to Fendt 1000 Vario," said Adrian Hackfort, Director Product Management Global Fuse Technologies. "These Fendt tractors can be controlled through the Fendt Tigo XR loading wagon as well as the towed field sprayer, the Fendt Rogator 300," said the engineer.

The loading wagon uses TIM functions to manage the tractor's speed, for example. It determines the best working speed to pick up materials depending on various parameters such as swath volumes, while the Fendt Rogator 300 field sprayer can control the speed of the towed machine to minimise any drift of pesticides and still drive efficiently.

TIM is a new ISOBUS functionality currently undergoing AEF conformity testing. As soon as it passes this test, the Fendt machines will be able to communicate with any machine that is also AEF-certified.
