The agricultural machinery industry is a rather traditional industry. Assessments of machines usually take place via horsepower, lifting capacity or PTO performance. A continuous analysis of data and a derivation for optimization and innovation approaches as well as the expansion with new digital business models is rather attributed to other industries or startups.
"We are all the more pleased to have received this award. In 2018, our "Digital Customer Experience"project, DCX for short started at the Marktoberdorf site and in the first 2 ½ years, a big part of what we invested, was on architecture, platforms and processes," said Christian Gondek, Director Digital Product Management. "The goal of the project was and still is to develop digital products for farmers and distribution partners that focus on usability, added value and quality. In agriculture, with many different customer groups and application examples, this is a very special but also always exciting challenge."
With an overall rating of 4.0 out of possible 5.0 points, AGCO/Fendt is one of the 29 out of 127 participants that were awarded this year's "Champions of Digital Transformation" at the award ceremony in Berlin on September 16. In the "Mechanical Engineering" category, the company thus achieved the third-best score in the multidimensional analysis. The reason for being selected as one of the best companies is the: "constant feedback with customers for digital solutions".
The study focuses on the core of the German economy, i.e. those companies that are in the middle of the transformation process.
"Digital tools are already helping us to make contact with our dealers more efficient and better - whether it's ordering machinery or handling maintenance or warranty contracts," says Christoph Gröblinghoff, Chairman of the AGCO/Fendt Management Board. "However, the goal is to offer farmers systems that are even faster and more precise so that they can carry out their work efficiently and economically profitable. FendtONE is clearly in the foreground here.
