The association Kinderbrücke Allgäu e.V. was founded 2001 in Kempten and is supporting families and children in need with aid projects and also preventive projects in the region Allgäu. “On one hand we are directly helping families by covering the costs of school trips, visual aids or urgently needed furniture. On the other hand we also support and finance preventive projects whereby many things can be tackled before they become a problem”, so Ursula Gollmitzer, 2nd Chairperson of the association. With the donation of 600 Euros complex projects like the HIPPY project (Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-School Youngsters) can be financed. The aim of this project is the joint learning of the German language by parents and pre-school children. Hereby, for example refugee children and parents are supported with book material and regular home visits. This not only increases the children’s educational opportunities but also promotes the German language of the parents.
The theatre school mobilé in Marktoberdorf has been in the hands of Monika Schubert for 38 years. It’s a place where children learn to play theatre and at the same time learn about social behavior in a community. It takes a lot of team spirit to bring a play on stage together. “If you look at the words ‘play theatre’ you can see that there a lot more behind it. I always associate the word play with joy. And that is exactly what I see when the children practice together in the theatre school”, so the theatre pedagogue Monika Schubert. With the donation of 1.000 Euros more children whose parents cannot afford it can be admitted to the theatre school from next September.
