Unveiling of the drink dispensing station

Dr Josef Mayer and the apprentices lift the black fabric to reveal the self-built system underneath. Built by the apprentices at the Hohenmölsen site, it is truly a one-off. Members of the press, local politicians and representatives of the farmers' association were invited to celebrate the unveiling of the dispensing station and this special project.

"In Germany, we need qualified employees who can carry out their work responsibly, demonstrating commitment and technical expertise. That’s why the Fendt Management Board supported the apprentices’ special project to build a drink dispensing station," said Dr Josef Mayer. "Using initiative and creativity, some of our apprentices have built a mobile drink dispenser from the bonnet of a Fendt 700 Vario. It is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also works perfectly from a technical point of view."

AGRILL initiative

The idea to construct the dispensing station came from the "AGRILL" initiative of the German Farmers' Association in Schleswig-Holstein. The name "AGRILL" combines the word "April" and the German word "Grill" for barbecue. Through this initiative, the farmers' association aims to boost confidence in regional agriculture and locally produced food. As part of the initiative "AGRILL", the association encourages agricultural engineering companies to allow their apprentices to design and build their own systems, such as self-designed barbecue stations or an outdoor drink dispensing station. These projects aim to bring people together under the motto "Enjoying together" and set an example for culinary delights and diversity.

The drink dispensing station was built by apprentices at the Hohenmölsen site in April and May of this year. The design of the dispensing station is second to none. TIts powerful dry cooling system has a cooling capacity of 100 litres per hour and the associated dispensing technology is housed in a Fendt 728 Vario bonnet with the original lighting fully integrated. Through this "special project", the apprentices learnt to work independently, contribute their own creative ideas and gain valuable experience in project management.

The next important deployment of the drink dispensing station is already planned: at the German Farmers' Day in Berlin in June, where farmers and politicians will be served cold drinks.

Since 2012, the Fendt site in Hohenmölsen has been training apprentices in technical professions. Today, the site offers apprenticeships in six different trades. During the construction of the dispensing station, a construction mechanic and two industrial mechanics from Fendt, as well as an industrial mechanic from MIBRAG, demonstrated their skills. All apprentices in Hohenmölsen begin their basic technical training at the MIBRAG (Mitteldeutsche Braunkohlengesellschaft mbH) training centre. MIBRAG is supporting the region’s transformation process from a coal mining area to one providing energy and industrial services, and offers various commercial and technical apprenticeships.

About the Hohenmölsen site

The AGCO Corporation acquired the current factory site in Hohenmölsen in 2009. The Fendt Katana forage harvester, which was developed by Fendt, has been manufactured on site since 2011, reaching the milestone of 100 manufactured machines in 2013. The Fendt Rogator 600 self-propelled sprayers are also produced in the same production hall. Additionally, parts and components for Fendt tractors, round balers and combine harvesters are produced and are painted and dispatched in an environmentally friendly manner at the Hohenmölsen plant. The construction of the modern paint shop and the adjacent logistics centre at the end of 2020, has established the Hohenmölsen site as a technology site for the future. The modern paint shop was operational in summer 2023. The painting technology division has since been expanded further.
