ZG Raiffeisen Technik and Fendt celebrate 80 years

The ZG Raiffeisen cooperative and the agricultural equipment manufacturer Fendt have maintained a close partnership spanning 80 years. Back then, Fendt was still the family business Xaver Fendt & Co., and ZG Raiffeisen was known as the Badische landwirtschaftliche Zentralgenossenschaft eGmbH (Baden Agricultural Central Cooperative), but the drive has always been the same – to provide professional solutions and excellent service for customers in Baden.

With a market share of 19.7% in its field of work, ZG Raiffeisen Technik GmbH was 2017's most successful Fendt dealer in Germany – another 17% up on its previous year. This success and eight decades of brand partnership were celebrated by the employees of both companies on February 2, 2018, with a joint Jubilee event on Feldberg mountain.

"It is no coincidence that we have managed to become a market leader with Fendt," said Martin Bauknecht, Managing Director at ZG Raiffeisen Technik GmbH. "We have 80 years of successful partnership to look back on - years of returning the top spot in the market. We owe this to a strong team, but of course we couldn't have done it without some fantastic products. We are proud of our premium partnership with the premium brand, Fendt." He goes on to add, "Every Fendt machine delivered in the 2018 Jubilee year will bear the 80-year partnership logo."

Back when the partnership started at the end of the 1930s, the Badische landwirtschaftliche Zentralgenossenschaft eGmbH (today's ZG Raiffeisen) launched the first frameless Dieselross F22, with a water-cooled standalone 2-cylinder engine with circulating cooling system. At the time, it could reach road speeds of up to 18 km/h. 80 years later, with the Fendt 1000 Vario, ZG Raiffeisen Technik's range includes the world's largest standard tractor delivering 517 hp and speeds of up to 60 km/h. After all, farmers and contractors in the Black Forest need the right performance for their wood chippers and other machinery.

The strategic partnership that unites both companies has evolved over the decades and will continue to grow in the future. After exclusively selling tractors in the 1990s, Fendt combine harvesters and balers followed in 2002, with forage harvesters joining them later. Forage harvesting machines including mowers, tedders, rakes, loading wagons and large balers now complete the portfolio. As of January 2018, ZG Raiffeisen Technik GmbH is now a Fendt full-line supplier.
