Sustainable supply chain

In a globalised world, it is crucial to make supply chains socially and ecologically sustainable. Fendt relies on a high level of vertical integration, such as the in-house development and production of transmissions, in order to avoid emissions caused by transport. We are also resource-efficient in our manufacturing processes and utilise a high proportion of renewable energy.

Fendt takes responsibility

Our supply chain is made up of regional, European and non-European suppliers – depending on where in the world the best partners for a sustainable product can be found. In doing so, we pay attention not only to the origin of the materials, but also to climate-friendly transport solutions. Through a smart combination of rail and road transport, the use of alternative drive systems such as natural gas and the optimised bundling of delivery journeys, we are actively contributing to reducing emissions. Since November 2024, we have also been testing the use of electric lorries on the route between the warehouse in Altdorf and the plant in Marktoberdorf in order to make transport more climate-friendly. Together with our suppliers, we have also reduced the number of rejects (PPM rate) by around 16 per cent between 2020 and 2024, thereby making an important contribution to conserving resources.

Sustainable and resilient supply chain at Fendt

Efficient supply chain management is crucial in order to respond flexibly to global challenges such as the coronavirus pandemic, price fluctuations and climate change.
With the AGCO Smart Supply initiative, we can react quickly to crisis situations within the supply chain, which earned us the Innovation Award from the German Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics in 2020. Since 2022, we have been evaluating the sustainability performance of our suppliers using the EcoVadis platform and jointly improving environmental and social standards – with our partners exceeding global benchmarks.

Since 2023, Fendt has been subject to the requirements of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) and is gradually implementing the associated due diligence obligations.
