Our responsibility for sustainable agriculture
Sustainability is a central component of our brand strategy at Fendt. In this video, we show how we are making our production more environmentally-friendly, utilising resources more efficiently and developing sustainable solutions together with our partners.
We also present our strategy for a more sustainable agriculture – with six key areas of action that are actively shaping change.

Global challenges
Innovation as the key
The world is facing great challenges – and agriculture is playing a central role. By 2050, around ten billion people will be living on our planet. Innovative agricultural technology is needed to sustainably feed the growing population against the backdrop of advancing climate change. Efficient and durable machines are crucial for meeting the growing demand for food in an environmentally friendly and resource-efficient way.

Political framework
The European Union’s Green Deal
According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, our diet is responsible for around 20 to 35% of global greenhouse gas emissions. This share may increase further as a result of population growth. To counteract this, politicians are setting ambitious targets: the EU Green Deal and the German Climate Protection Act call for fewer greenhouse gases, reduced use of pesticides, more reforestation and the expansion of organic farming. By 2030, for example, emissions from German agriculture are to be reduced by 20% – around 14 million tonnes of CO₂.

Future-proof agriculture with Fendt
Farmers are faced with a conflict of objectives: they have to produce more food and at the same time fulfil climate and environmental requirements. Fendt supports them with sustainable and innovative technologies to master this challenge. As a leading provider of agricultural technology, we strive to be the first choice for future-proof solutions. Our aim is to contribute to the sustainable development and transformation of agriculture through concrete measures. We rely on close cooperation with customers and partners along the entire value chain – from farm to fork. Because only together can we shape the agriculture of the future.
Fendt Sustainability Forum
Shaping the future of agriculture
At the Fendt Sustainability Forum, farmers and experts from the agricultural sector discuss sustainable solutions. The forum has been held annually since 2022 as a platform for knowledge transfer and networking.
On 28 November 2024, 12 farmers presented innovative strategies at the third forum, while over 280 guests from several countries took part. In this way, Fendt promotes dialogue about the future of agriculture and provides impetus for greater sustainability.

The AGCO sustainability strategy
The AGCO sustainability strategy focuses on innovation, efficiency and responsibility in four fields of action:
- Innovate for a triple win: promoting innovations that help farmers maximise yields and improve soil health while enhancing the quality of life for farmers and their communities.
- Power the future of agriculture: helping farmers reduce their emissions by using more climate-friendly technologies and improving energy efficiency.
- Advance a responsible product life cycle: ensuring that supply chains and product life cycles comply with current sustainability practices to reduce environmental impact.
- Thrive together - employees, dealers and farmers: promoting social sustainability to strengthen a positive corporate culture and social responsibility.

Clear goals for a sustainable future
Measurable sustainability targets are derived from this:
- Integrate outcomes-based sustainability criteria in new product development process by end of 2026
- Presenting more than ten products with climate-friendly drive technologies by 2033
- Improve Powertrain efficiency by at least 5% on new products (by 2033)
- Reduction of scope 1 and 2 emissions by 55 per cent by 2033 and 90 per cent by 2050
- Reduce absolute water withdrawals by 10 per cent by 2026
- Achieving a recycling rate of over 90 per cent by 2026
- Increasing sales of remanufactured parts (AGCO REMAN) by 18 per cent by 2028
- Reducing the TCIR rate (accident rate/total case incident rate) to an index value below one by 2025
- Develop a global health, safety and wellbeing program for farmers by 2028
Fendt anchors these ambitions and objectives in its own brand strategy and bundles its sustainability activities into six key areas of action.
