With four models (Fendt 513, 514, 515 and 516 Vario), the Fendt 500 Vario Gen4 series covers the maximum performance range from 134 to 164 hp (99 - 121 kW) according to ECE R120. In this series, the intelligent Fendt DynamicPerformance (DP) added power concept releases an additional 10 hp (7 kW) for all models if main and secondary consumers such as the PTO, fan, compressed air supply or air-conditioning require additional power. The release of power is not coupled to conditions such as travel speed or PTO use. Fendt DP specifically compensates for the additional power requirement. The consistent work performance ensures higher productivity in soil cultivation, transport or PTO work when stationary with slurry mixer or feed mixer.
The 4-cylinder AGCO Power CORE50 engine with 5 litres cubic capacity combines the well-known Fendt iD low-speed concept with a nominal speed of only 1,900 rpm with a high torque at a maximum of 792 Nm on the top Fendt 516 Vario model. Exhaust gas after-treatment takes place via a diesel oxidation catalytic converter (DOC), diesel particulate filter (DPF) and with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) without exhaust gas recirculation. It meets all applicable emission standards worldwide, and in Europe this is the Level V emission standard. The CORE50 engine is approved for HVO100 and fuels according to DIN 15940. If the machine is operated with HVO, the CO2 footprint of the machine can be significantly reduced.

Model | Max. Power | Maximum power with DP according to ECE R120 |
Fendt 513 Vario | 134 hp (99 kW) | 144 hp (106 kW) |
Fendt 514 Vario | 144 hp (106 kW) | 154 hp (113 kW) |
Fendt 515 Vario | 154 hp (113 kW) | 164 hp (121 kW) |
Fendt 516 Vario | 164 hp (121 kW) | 174 hp (128 kW) |
The Fendt 500 Vario series has been in use worldwide since 2011 with over 25,000 vehicles. In Europe, North America and Australia, the machines are used in grassland, on the field or in vegetable cultivation, while in Australia and the USA they also work as a farm tractor with front loaders due to their compact design and manoeuvrability. Now the series has been completely renewed.
VarioDrive available for the first time for compact standard tractors from 135 - 175 hp

The single-stage Fendt VarioDrive TA120 drive has permanent, independent four-wheel drive. This enables maximum tractive power with high soil protection on different subsoils and in curves. In addition, there is no need for manual shifting when switching between field and road. VarioDrive drives the front and rear axles independently of each other and distributes the power dynamically via Fendt Torque Distribution. Another advantage of VarioDrive is the so-called pull-in-turn effect. This is noticeable, for example, during turning manoeuvres: thanks to pull-in-turn, the independently driven front axle actively pulls the machine into the corner without torsion. The Fendt 500 Vario achieves a particularly small turning circle with full tractive power.

Its low empty weight and permissible overall weight of 11.75 t result in a high payload of 4.9 t for this class. The Fendt 500 Vario can be flexibly ballasted in the front, on the rear wheels and in the rear, both as a field tractor with a seed drill combination and as a front packer, as well as for use in grassland with a mowing combination and safety in transport. The drawbar load of the adjustable drawbar or the K80 hitch in the carriage has been increased to 3 t in this generation. With a permanently installed K80 hitch, up to 4 t of drawbar load are possible for the Fendt 500 Vario for the first time.
More efficient work in arable farming

Manoeuvrable, compact, smart and equipped with VarioDrive and Fendt DP as well as a high payload, the Fendt 500 Vario series works efficiently in arable farming. With a seed drill combination, Fendt DP provides more power when required. If the machine needs less power as a farm tractor with a front loader or less power when spraying, the engine works very economically in partial load operation thanks to Fendt iD. The combination of Fendt VarioDrive including pull-in-turn reduces the turning circle and can reduce the required headland surfaces with the Fendt TI Headland headland management. This has a positive effect on yield.
The new 4-speed PTO meets the different requirements of all available implements. Two economy PTOs work efficiently in the partial load range with fertiliser spreaders, tedders or pesticide sprayers. In addition, the series is designed for implements with a high hydraulic oil requirement such as push-off trailers, roll-belt trailers, pneumatic seed drills or potato harvesters. Already in the Power+ version, the tractor provides 110 or 152 l hydraulic flow rates via up to 8 valves (4+3+1). Up to 9 valves are available in the Profi+ version (5+3+1 or 5+2+2).
With Fendt VarioGrip, the fully integrated tyre pressure regulation system, farms in agriculture can, for the first time, gain these benefits in daily use with the Fendt 500 Vario. Depending on the soil conditions and payload, the appropriate tyre pressure can be set in the terminal. A higher tyre footprint increases the tractive power and reduces the ground pressure. The tractor puts its power to the ground particularly gently.

The Fendt 500 Vario is equipped with FendtONE as standard. It has all the smart options of the Fendt large tractors. The use with Fendt Guide enables precise work down to two centimetres. With an ISOBUS interface, complex implements are controlled in a clear and direct way via the integrated terminals. FendtONE offboard offers ways to easily manage machines and drivers and plan the day’s work before it all starts from home. Features such as cameras for the bonnet and rear, the Trailer Brake Assistant or the heated laminated safety glass (LSG) front window further increase working comfort.

Another new feature is the integration of Apple CarPlay into the Fendt infotainment via cable or Bluetooth. As already known from the automotive sector, operation is carried out via the terminal on the armrest. The software will be rolled out in June 2026.

The optional Fendt GroundVision drawbar lighting illuminates the area directly at the rear of the machine. On the one hand, the area directly in front of the implement and its front is illuminated in field use, and on the other hand, it simplifies the attachment and detachment of implements in the dark. The lights are integrated at the lower end of the rear fenders. Another advantage is the raised parking position for lower link. This ensures improved clearance between lower link and drawbar or PTO with trailed rear implements.
An intelligent, reversible fan that can be controlled via the FendtONE terminal is available as an option for the Fendt 500 Vario in particularly dusty operating conditions. The system is fully integrated into the vehicle control system, is controlled flexibly via the terminal according to demand.
New generation of front loader

Factors such as a continuous view even with a raised front loader including bucket, a particularly small turning circle, the simple control via the 3L-Joystick and a high axle load of the front axle are crucial for productive front loader use. The proven Fendt Active overlay steering reduces the steering turns required for full steering angles. This makes the Fendt 500 Vario optimally equipped for front loader use. With Fendt VarioDrive and independent four-wheel drive, the tractor also achieves higher pushing power and reduces wear thanks to lower tyre wear.
The vertically continuous panoramic window in the proven Fendt VisioPlus cab ensures optimum visibility even with the fully raised front loader. In the horizontal plane, the driver has a high all-round visibility index of over 72 percent. This index measures the freely visible net viewing area at head height in a circle with a diameter of 24 metres. These lines of sight are of great advantage with shunting and loading work on the courtyard, in narrow halls or on the field. Front window wipers with up to 300 degrees of wiping area and the optional side window wiper on the right side complete the visibility package.
The Fendt 500 Vario has a separate valve block in the middle of the vehicle on the right. Depending on the variant, the multi-coupler occupies up to three valves in front loader use. Since these valves do not correspond to any other control unit, front and rear valves can be used without restriction. The new multi-coupler reduces pressure losses, has an automatic opening function and protects against contamination when uncoupled. This function increases the service life and minimises maintenance times. Depending on the equipment, up to seven valves are always available in the rear and front (5+2). If the front loader remains on the tractor when cutting the silage or after filling the feed mixing wagon, these can be used elsewhere.
Depending on the operation, the requirements for a front-end loader vary. That's why Fendt offers two new generation front loaders: the Fendt Cargo and Fendt Cargo Profi. There are two size classes and designs with the Fendt Cargo 4.75 and 4.80 models, each with a tyre-independent overloading height of 4.17 m. The maximum lifting capacity ranges from 2,080 daN for Fendt Cargo 4.75 S to 2,435 daN for Fendt Cargo 4.80 Profi – 3rd valve models. The S arm was specially developed for standard front loader requirements. The focus was on good visibility, low weight and high stability.

The Fendt Cargo Profi version includes an integrated weighing function with target weight loading, the limitation of the excavation height and the tilting angle when used in buildings, the memory functions for the tool and arm or a speed-dependent damping. An automatic maintenance display in the terminal provides information about maintenance intervals for these models.
The optional 3L-Joystick can be used to operate three functions simultaneously, whereby the third function is operated via the thumb joystick on the 3L-Joystick. This is practical for use with the bale tongs. This way, the bale tongs can be lifted, tilted and opened at the same time. Tools can also be securely locked, unlocked or changed in any position.
Optionally, Fendt offers an additional steering joystick for Fendt tractors. More information on the steering joystick can be found in our press release on INNOVATIONS IN FENDT TRACTORS.
Powerful in maintenance work
Thanks to its high ground clearance with maintenance tyres, the Fendt 500 Vario can efficiently carry out pesticide or fertilisation measures without injuring the crops. If the customer is setting up a flexible K80 hitch, the ground clearance for late pesticide treatments such as flower treatment in rapeseed increases. A cab designed for protection category 4 is available from the factory. The optional system protects the driver against dust, liquid pesticides and their vapours and meets all legal requirements of the EU standard EN15695. In its basic setting, the cab meets all standards of protection category 2.
A Trailer Brake Assistant (TBA) increases the safety of the team with compressed air-braked trailers or pesticide sprayers in hilly terrain or at intersections. The FendtONE operating concept enables clear control of ISOBUS-capable implements, such as sprayers or fertiliser spreaders, as well as their use with smart functions such as Section Control or Variable Rate Control. This saves on operating costs and protects the environment.
For more information on FendtONE onboard and offboard, see our press release for FENDTONE.
High-performance tractors with a low power-to-weight ratio, high manoeuvrability, ground clearance and a focus on soil protection are in demand on grassland operations. Fendt DP compensates for performance losses and thus ensures consistently high area performance when mowing in hilly terrain. With a tedder, the engine works economically in partial load operation. Tractors with Fendt VarioDrive bring the driving power to the ground without torsion even when cornering. This protects the sward and reduces the crude ash content in the feed. Fendt VarioGrip can increase the tractor's tyre contact area and thus brings the weight of the tractor to the ground particularly gently.

Technologies such as the position control and relief control for the front power lift or the Trailer Brake Assistant ensure high efficiency and best forage quality. The position control and relief control leads the front mounted mower cleanly along the ground contours in hilly terrain and reduces the contamination into the forage. It is already available in the Power and Power+ variants. In addition, the front power lift is fully integrated into the vehicle, so that the mower is guided close to the machine. With the compact wheelbase, this leads to particularly manoeuvrable handling. The low centre of gravity ensures safety on slopes. At the same time, high swaths can be run over because of the ground clearance.

The new Fendt GroundVision LED drawbar lighting system specifically illuminates the area behind the tractor without glare. For example, when used with a round baler or forage wagon, the feed from the swath into the pick-up is optimally visible.
The use of Section Control in the team with our Fendt Former 14055 Pro or TIM with the Fendt Rotana 160 V Combi round baler considerably relieves the burden on drivers. Both implements work precisely via ISOBUS and automate certain work steps. If required, customers can still order the Fendt 500 Vario with a second door or the adjustable front window.
Compact standard tractors run about 50 percent of operating hours on the road or in transport. Thanks to the comprehensive chassis and safety concept and the Fendt Reaction Steering, the Fendt 500 Vario becomes a transport specialist. This includes the Fendt iD low-speed concept with only 1,300 rpm at 40 km/h and 1,600 rpm at 50 km/h, additional braking safety via a wear-free, hydraulic auxiliary brake, the Trailer Brake Assistant (TBA) and the automatic parking brake. Correctly adjusted, VarioGrip reduces fuel consumption on the road. The Fendt 500 Vario Gen4 series is built for heavy loads with a payload of up to 4.9 t and a permissible overall weight of 11.75 t. This means that mounted implements or trailers with a drawbar load of up to 4 t are transported safely and legally. The raised parking position of the lower link prevents collisions with the drawbar trailed implements and protects the PTO and lower link.

A coordinated overall suspension concept consisting of level-adjusted front axle suspension, power lift damping, cab and seat suspension as well as vibration dampening ensures a comfortable driving experience on rough terrain.
The optional daytime running lights increase visibility in road traffic, while the TBA ensures greater safety in critical trailer overrun situations, depending on the speed of driving and trailer load. If the tractor recognises overrun when driving on a slope, it automatically applies the pneumatic brake of the trailer. The intelligent system prevents the trailer brakes from overheating and reduces the risk of jackknifing or overrun in hilly terrain with a forage wagon or trailed pesticide sprayer.
Comfort and precision in special crops

Special crops such as potatoes, lettuces or strawberries require particularly high precision at very low speeds, for example when planting beds or milling soil ridges. Equipped with the full range of Smart Farming options such as guidance system including automatic headland management, telemetry and control functions such as TIM, the Fendt 500 Vario series works precisely and intelligently. The guidance system ensures high precision when planting or sowing and relieves the driver. The numerous tyre options also allow adaptation to the respective operational requirements. Thanks to the high payload and drawbar loads, the machine runs flexibly in the team with implements such as planting machines, potato harvesters or a full harvest trailer.
From mowing to winter service – Operations outside of agriculture

Green and road maintenance or winter service in municipalities and airports, are often taken over by tractors. The single-stage Fendt VarioDrive drivetrain, coupled with compact dimensions, a small turning circle, high power at the PTO, interfaces and storage spaces for numerous devices, high driving comfort and various front loaders, are also appreciated outside of agriculture.
In winter service, the optional, heated laminated safety glass (LSG) window makes visibility easier. The front window heating accelerates the defrosting, prevents renewed ice formation and fogging in case of snowfall. The laminated glass window has advantages for mulching and mowing work and hedge trimming. Thanks to its special lamination process, it can withstand contact with foreign objects better. The glass, with integrated splinter protection, protects against injuries. In addition, the LSG glass dampens noises particularly well. Optionally, a front window wiper is available on the right side, so that a outrigger mower on the right can be well monitored and controlled. Complex implements or the front loader are conveniently controlled via the 3L-Joystick. Electrically adjustable, heated mirrors and municipal tyres from the factory round off the package. Optionally, bio-hydraulic oil protects the environment and enables use in sensitive areas.

The Fendt 500 Vario series can be ordered from September 2025. The first machines will be delivered from spring 2026.
