The low engine speeds result in record-low consumption levels — only 211g/kWh (+23.7g/kWh of AdBlue) at maximum pto output are top-of-the-league stats.

The new Fendt 900 Vario is without doubt a multi-skilled machine. It's the first tractor in its performance class with a constant low-speed concept, adopting other interesting solutions from the larger 1000 Vario. Including the second-generation Vario transmission with speed range, auto 4WD with Pull-in-Turn and the optional separate power hydraulics. Together with the optional electronic package, Fendt raises the bar a little higher.

Fendt developers show us, yet again, that they know how to build comfortable tractors. The 942 Vario handles like the proverbial dream and cuts a great figure even on rough terrain.

Fendt iD low engine speed concept

Fendt promises and delivers.

Every vehicle component, like the engine, gearbox, fans, hydraulics and all the secondary users are designed to perfectly suit low engine speeds.

The low-speed concept is fascinating to experience on the road. The new 900-series can actually reach 40 km/h at just 950 rpm (1,200 rpm at 50 km/h, 1,450 rpm at 60 km/h).

VarioDrive

Fendt promises and delivers.

At the headland, Fendt VarioDrive makes all the difference. The front wheel drive can actively pull the tractor into the turn. This is the 'pull-in-turn' effect. This reduces the turning circle by up to 10%.

Another feature of the smart 4-wheel drive is the Pull-in-Turn effect when cornering. Especially in tricky situations at the headland, the driver benefits from the fact that the accelerated front wheels pull the tractor into the turn.

VarioGrip tyre pressure regulation system

Fendt promises and delivers.

With the integrated tyre pressure regulation system Fendt VarioGrip, the tyre pressure can be adjusted with just one click in the Varioterminal.

Fendt has also improved its VarioGrip tyre pressure control system. The built-in 2-circuit system with rotary transmission is available for flange and bar axles – and can even power twin wheels on the Row Crop model, complete with 720 cm³ water-cooled compressor.

High performance hydraulics

Fendt promises and delivers.

The modular design of the hydraulics opens up a whole range of options. This includes a choice of 3 oil flow rates: 165 l/min, 220 l/min or 2 hydraulic pumps (220 + 210 l/min) with a volume flow of up to 430 l/min. The 2-circuit hydraulics system allows two driven units to be supplied with different amounts of pressure and oil flow.

As always, nothing has been spared when it comes to the hydraulics on the 900-series. Just like the well-documented 1000-series, you have the same hydraulics features – from the axial piston pump with 165 l/min and the 220 l/min pump to the 2-circuit 430 l/min high-performance hydraulics. This means you can opt for up to 8 control units, of which 2 can reach optional flow rates of up to 170 l/min.

Fendt Life Cab

In the test run, we were thrilled with the optional, triple-mounted pneumatic cab suspension – especially when driving fast on dirt roads.

Any Fendt driver will feel right at home in the cab. Most of the controls are exactly the same. Just the speed range and 4WD buttons are missing. But the Fendt Life Cab comes with an extra treat: the Vario terminal has been enhanced with an entertainment and communication platform, with a built-in hands-free system, a radio compatible with external audio sources, and a sound system. You can even have a subwoofer fitted. The mirrors are electrically adjustable and extendible, with onscreen control.

Smart Connect

Fendt promises and delivers.

The optional Smart Connect app visualises machine parameters in real time without storing any data.
