Fendt 728 Vario once again "Nation's Favourite" in Germany

With 1,007 new registrations, the Fendt 728 Vario — the top model in the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 series — took first place among the most popular tractors in Germany. "The 728 Vario (1,007 registrations) wins by a large margin, followed by the 724 Vario and the 620 Vario," wrote German ag magazine Profi on 4 February 2026.

Fendt in the top three

With 868 new registrations, the Fendt 724 Vario came second in 2025, according to German ag magazine agrarheute, which writes: 'Fendt is not only the market leader, but also sells more tractors with the 700 series than any other manufacturer with a single series. The 724 and 728 models alone accounted for 7.3 per cent of new tractor registrations." The Fendt 724 Vario held first place for over ten years until 2023 and has now achieved second place among the most popular tractors in Germany for the second year in a row.
The Fendt 620 Vario, the top model in the Fendt 600 Vario series, entered the top three for the first time in 2025, taking third place with 515 new registrations. In 2024, the Fendt 516 Vario held this position. A total of six Fendt tractors made it into the top ten most popular tractors in Germany. These include the Fendt 314 Vario, the Fendt 718, and the Fendt 516 Vario.

'The fact that the Fendt 728 Vario has taken first place for the second time shows that this machine meets the high demands of German farmers and contractors. It is thanks to an outstanding sales team and close cooperation with our sales partners that we were able to achieve this ranking in a declining market," says Wolfgang Möhrer, Head of Fendt Sales in Germany. 'The top ten figures demonstrate the appeal of our diverse range of machines in the 140 to 300 hp class, from the Fendt 314 Vario to the 700 series.'
