Fendt receives two awards at the DLG Field Days 2022
From June 14th to 16th, the DLG Field Days took place at the Kirschgartshausen Experimental Farm in Mannheim. In sunshine and up to 34 degrees, around 15,000 people visited the trade fair for crop production. Fendt received a DLG silver medal and the DLG Agrifuture Concept Award 2022 at the fair.

At the DLG Field Days, farmers and contractors from all over Europe exchange information with manufacturers on crop cultivation topics. International visitors came mainly from the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, France, Lithuania, Poland and the Czech Republic. This year, Fendt is exhibiting the self-propelled sprayer Fendt Rogator 665, the Fendt 516 Vario together with the front loader Fendt CargoProfi and the new telehandler Fendt Cargo T740.
Two DLG awards for Fendt
On the evening of June 15th, the award ceremony for the DLG Innovation Award medals and the DLG Agrifuture Concept Award 2022 took place. The presentation was originally scheduled to take place at Agritechnica, but was moved to the DLG Field Days due to the cancellation. There, the DLG Innovation Commission presented the gold and silver medals and honored the pioneering work for the future of agriculture.

"The DLG silver medal for the self-cleaning air filter is a great honor for us and especially for the engineers. Automated cleaning of the air filter was not previously available on the market in this way and shows its advantages particularly in regions with heavy dust generation such as North and South America, but also Southern Europe," explains Walter Wagner, Managing Director for Research and Development at AGCO/Fendt.
"The DLG Agrifuture Concept Award was given to a project from pre-development on the subject of hydrogen. Together with our joint partners CEC from Haren, Röchling and the Technical University of Braunschweig, a hydrogen infrastructure is being researched in the H2Agrar model project. To this end, we are developing a prototype hydrogen tractor that will go into initial use in 2023. I would like to warmly congratulate the teams involved on these great awards for their years of work."
Developed for professional farmers with large areas in Europe, the Fendt Rogator 600 comes with three models, a working width of 24 to 36 m, a tank capacity between 3,850 to 6,000 l and a ground clearance of 120 cm. The Fendt Rogator 665 ran twice a day during the DLG Field Days on the DLG course for crop protection sprayers.

Since 2021, the Fendt 500 Vario series has also been equipped with the new FendtONE onboard driver workstation. With all FendtONE functions, the compact series also offers family farms an easy entry into track guidance and system-supported documentation. The compact and versatile machine works particularly efficiently with the optional 3L joystick and the Fendt front loader with 3rd valve.
The Fendt 516 Vario ran in two machine demonstrations at once. One machine ran in front of a fertilizer spreader, a second in the course technology for lifting, loading and filling in the field.
Newly introduced at the beginning of 2022, the maneuverable Fendt Cargo T740 telehandler complements the range of telehandlers. The compact model features a lift height of 7.70 m, a lifting capacity of 4 t and the new generation of the unique Fendt TopViewCab lift cab. The teleshandler combines high breakout force, precise control and a viewing height of over four meters. As a result, the Fendt Cargo T740 can be used on medium-sized mixed farms for a wide range of agricultural work such as straw bailing, transport, feeding or silo removal.
International Field Robot Event (FRE) at the DLG Field Days
The International Field Robot Event also took place during the DLG Field Days. The annual competition pits international teams of students with field robots against each other. This year, the two set daily tasks consisted of navigation in a staked cornfield as well as task detection and mapping, focusing on object and weed detection. Fendt is one of the sponsors of this year's Field Robot Event. The competition was initiated back in 2003 by Wageningen University (NL).

About the DLG Field Days 2022
The DLG Field Days have been held every two years since 1988 at changing trial sites throughout Germany. Due to the Corona pandemic, the event was cancelled in 2020. This year, visitors were able to enjoy the event under the motto "My crop production. My future." could get into conversation with more than 380 exhibitors. Around 60 forums and 58 machine demonstrations, as well as five competitions on the use of robotics, offered numerous opportunities for professional exchange on the 59-hectare exhibition site. For the first time, the machine demonstrations also included a course on lifting, filling and loading. In addition, the special topics of organic farming and field vegetables were on the program.
