The new Fendt crop spraying technology:
Fendt Rogator 600 and Fendt Rogator 300

AGCO/Fendt takes another step on the road to becoming a full line manufacturer with its new range of trailed and self-propelled crop sprayers. Both model series have been developed in Europe and will be built at the AGCO Hohenmölsen plant from 2018, which is also the home of the Fendt Katana forage harvester.

The self-propelled Rogator 600 series comprises 3 models with a nominal capacity of 4000, 5000 and 6000 litres, and operating widths of up to 36 metres. Target groups include large acreage farms and contractors. The revolutionary chassis concept, the advanced boom control, and the extended technology and guidance system justify its premium tag.

The trailed Fendt Rogator 300 series is a completely new line. Based on the successful self-propelled Rogator 600, the new trailed sprayers with a nominal capacity of 3,300, 4,400, 5,500 and 6,600 litres have been developed with operating widths of 24 to 30 metres. The high-precision linkage control, the perfect handling, the optimal chassis concept, as well as the impressive reliability have been carried over to the new trailed sprayers.

The Fendt Rogator concept

All Rogator 600 and 300 models are equipped as standard with unbendable and yet lightweight aluminium linkages. The sophisticated aluminium design protects the nozzles and makes them easy to change.

Up to 5 OptiSonic ultrasonic sensors guide the left and right boom arms separately over the target areas. The extremely quick boom reaction ensures a consistent distance from the target areas is maintained for maximum application quality.

The highly-developed single-beam chassis concept combined with the revolutionary aluminium boom permanently eliminates horizontal boom vibrations, which can be traced to the terrain or acceleration and deceleration of the combination. At the same time, the system reduces the main frame load to a minimum. Due to the reduced movements, the Rogator system effectively minimises over and under-application which can often result from unstable booms. For good visibility of the nozzle compartments, the special optional LED headlights illuminate the boom and nozzles from behind.

The hydraulically-driven, fast-reacting centrifugal pump, identical in design on all Fendt Rogator crop sprayers, with its 785 l/min pump capacity, provides sufficient mixing power for the spray liquid circuit, and ensures excellent suction power for short filling times. Centrifugal pumps work without pulsations and pressure fluctuations, and they run quietly. A flow rate meter with a measuring range of 5 to 430 l/min provides the electronics with the necessary information even when the application quantities fluctuate, are very high or very low. With variable rate control (VRC), this allows quantities to be adjusted very quickly for best application results.

Short filling times increase acreage capacity. This can be seen, for example, in the induction capacity of 33 kg per minute for pellets, and a 60 litre tank and 200 litre per minute flow rate on the fully-integrated, lowerable induction hopper. All key machine functions can be activated conveniently on the control panel of the induction hopper.

Test and control connections are installed at all relevant points for maintenance and diagnostics.

The self-propelled Fendt Rogator 600

AGCO power engines with 175 to 242 HP, combined with the stepless drive concept and the smart traction control, provide these self-propelled models with sufficient power for reliable use. The revolutionary single-beam chassis forms the backbone of the three self-propelled models. Alongside a very low centre of gravity, this provides outstanding, balanced weight distribution, which also guarantees a very stable boom. Other features include the wide range of standard steering variants, all the way up to 4WD for the perfect turning circle. The ground clearance can be steplessly adjusted in the field. The hydraulic track width adjustment provides up to 2.25 m flexibility, which is especially important for contract work. Together with its wide range of filling, boom and nozzle technologies, the Rogator 600 is setting the standard.

The high level of comfort comes primarily from the single wheel suspension, but also from the new Vision cab in the Fendt Rogator 600 self-propelled model, which is assembled in the AGCO/Fendt Rogator cab plant in Asbach-Bäumenheim. The driver will find all the familiar Fendt operating logic. The Fendt Rogator 600 comes standard with a 10.4” Varioterminal. A second monitor is integrated as an option to provide an overview of the cameras as well as all machine parameters, along with guidance and data management information during work.

The whole range of VarioDoc data management options, wireless data communication and VarioGuide guidance system, right through to RTK are available ex works.

Trailed sprayer: Fendt Rogator 300

Designers have also retained the stable and unbendable single-beam chassis concept for the Rogator 300 models, and have added a universal drawbar solution in the front section. This means it is possible to switch between a clevis-type coupling and hitch-type coupling, and to adapt these at any time to suit different tractors and tyre sizes.

With the axle positioned far to the back, the Fendt Rogator 300 sprayer is a compact machine with a low centre of gravity.

Depending on the tyres, the streamlined single-beam chassis allows the OptiSteer concept to provide a steering angle of 35°. This guarantees maximum manoeuvrability and protection of the crop – even with high and wide tyres like 520/85R46. With up to 85 cm ground clearance and a smooth machine underbody, the Rogator 300 ensures that your crop will be protected.

Fendt Rogator 366

The Fendt Rogator 300 is fully ISOBUS-compatible and AEF certified. Functions can be controlled via the Fendt Varioterminal in ProfiPlus models from the Fendt 500 Vario tractor series and upwards.

The driver has use of an OptiControl joystick in the cab, which has been specially optimised for the Rogator 300 series. This can be used to conveniently and safely operate the Rogator 300. The 50 cm wide electric single nozzle switch fitted as standard underlines the professional quality of the sprayer. Depending on the model, Fendt Rogator 300 crop sprayers can carry up to 900 l of fresh water in two weight-optimised tanks.

The tractor’s load sensor hydraulics, an auxiliary control unit or the classic PTO drive the central Rogator hydraulic system, which drives all of the hydraulic functions on the Fendt Rogator 300, and the hydraulics here only use the power they need, therefore guaranteeing the efficiency of the Fendt combination.

Overall, the Fendt Rogator crop sprayers 300 and 600 are perfectly tailored to meet the needs of professional European farmers and contractors. They will be on sale from November 2017 following Agritechnica, and start shipping from Q1 2018.
