On Thursday, 5 March, over 400 former Fendt employees gathered at the Fendt Forum for the traditional Fendt alumni celebration. The oldest participant was Mathias Schott, aged 97.

From 1 p.m. onwards, there is a significant increase in traffic around the Fendt Forum. Cars, bicycles and pedestrians arrive and gather in small groups to chat. They are all attending the Fendt alumni celebration and appreciate the opportunity to catch up with old colleagues who have become friends over the years. Some guests have only recently left the company, while others have been enjoying their retirement for over 30 years. For many, a visit to Fendt is one of the highlights of the year — something they have been looking forward to for a long time.

'Today marks the 42nd alumni meeting here at the Fendt Forum. This celebration is a wonderful tradition that enables us to keep in touch with you. It's great to see so many of you here again. It shows that you still feel connected to your former colleagues and to our company,' said Ingrid Bußjäger-Martin, Managing Director of Finance and IT at Fendt, as she welcomed the guests. 'This year, we are celebrating 30 years of Fendt Vario transmissions. At Agritechnica, we also presented five new series. These are two major milestones for Fendt. Through your hard work over the years, you have contributed to the successes we are celebrating today.'

Together with Robin Kurzweg, Director HR Germany & Fendt EME, Ingrid Bußjäger-Martin welcomed the guests and gave a varied speech looking back on the company's development over the past year. She mentioned the launch of the new Fendt 300, 500, 700 Vario Gen7.1, 800 and 1000 Vario series, as well as the company's successes at Agritechnica. Sepp Nuscheler also reported on the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the Vario transmission — a real success story that has been shaped by all former Fendt employees in various roles.

This is only Andreas Loewel's second alumni celebration. Having been Fendt's sales director in Germany for many years, he is thrilled. 'I am incredibly proud of the Fendt success story this year. Many of us witnessed and contributed to the development of the Vario transmission, so it's fantastic to see it being celebrated this year. Today, I am meeting many old colleagues who laid the foundations for this success. It's a great day.'

Konrad Linder started working at Fendt in 1951. He worked in the painting department. After the war, the journey from Leuterschach was difficult and had to be made by bicycle. 'When a production facility opened in our village, I worked in Leuterschach for several years. But in 1978, I wanted to return to Fendt. I called on Thursday and started again in the painting department the following Friday – it was a great job. I did that until I retired in 1992, and I still enjoy coming to the meetings,' repots Konrad Linder. 'I'm a Fendt man through and through.'
