German farmers mainly buy Fendt tractors

At the beginning of the year, the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) publish the figures for new tractor registrations in the previous year. One thing is clear: green tractors with white roofs and red rims were registered the most - all developed and produced in Marktoberdorf.

Registration statistics: Fendt in 1st place from 0 hp

According to the KBA, a total of 30,333 tractors were registered in Germany in 2023. This means that the German tractor market has remained almost constant compared to the previous year. Just 24 fewer units were registered compared to 2022.

With 6,141 tractors, Fendt leads the registration statistics from 0 hp among all manufacturers and thus has a market share of 20.3 percent in Germany.

If you look at the evaluation of the official data from 51 hp, Fendt tractors, which only start at an output of 79 hp, even have a market share of 25.6 percent. This means that every fourth tractor registered in 2023 is a Vario tractor from Marktoberdorf.

Andreas Loewel, Head of Fendt Sales in Germany

"I would like to thank our professional sales partners in Germany, who have made this market leadership possible. But I would also like to thank the German farmers for their trust in the Fendt brand - the registrations of the past year are proof of this," says Andreas Loewel, Head of Fendt Sales in Germany.

"As a German agricultural machinery manufacturer, we have just as much faith in the strength of the farmers who are currently protesting for their rights. This is about nothing less than a commitment to German agriculture and therefore a commitment to healthy, regionally produced and tested agricultural products."
