This is and remains the quintessential event of this top-class sport, with everything that goes with it. For ten days, the Soers area in Aachen becomes a buzzing hotspot. The international tournament had some exciting entries in the disciplines of vaulting, dressage, jumping, eventing and four-in-hand.

The German teams and participants performed extremely well this year. Isabell Werth once again showed off her skills in various dressage tests, and lived up to her title as a dressage icon when she won the "Grand Prix of Aachen" for the twelfth time. Marcus Ehning also managed to win the "Grand Prix of Aachen" in jumping with his horse Pret a Tout once again for the first time in 12 years.

The top of the "Lambertz Nations Cup" in dressage was awarded to the German team for the twelfth time in a row, which claimed the victory thanks to their outstanding performance. The German jumping team also delivered an exciting performance in the "Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup" by winning for the third time in a row. In the Nations Cup of four-in-hand the German team managed to come second. Two German vaulting teams were ranked 1st and 2nd in the "Sparkassen Nations Cup". Only in eventing, the German team failed to reach the winner's podium, coming 5th place. However, Julia Krajewski did well on Chipmunk FRH, in the CIC*** "DHL Prize", securing her victory on the strength of her individual results. All in all a solid foundation for the upcoming World Championships in Tryon/USA.

As a proud partner of the German equestrian national teams, Fendt managed to win Rüdiger Schwarz, the parcours designer and former national coach for the versatility youth, for an on-site visit of the cross-country course for the "DHL Nations Award". What turned out to be a good hour's walk takes horse and rider only six minutes. The track has various challenging sections and is quite demanding for horse and rider, as the 21st of July showed. It took Rüdiger Schwarz a good year to plan this course. There are jumps, the so-called gates, which are skipped with a high speed, permitting very fluid jumps. In addition, there are moats and jumps where horse and rider simply jump into the unknown. On the longer stretches, horse and rider can reach up to 45 km/h. This requires both to be in very good form, and to be absolutely concentrated.

The highlight of the Equestrian Year 2018 will be the "FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018 "(WEG) in Tryon (USA) from 11 to 23 September.

Fendt is the main sponsor of the German national team for equestrian sports in the Olympic disciplines of dressage, jumping and eventing until at least 2026. The athletes riding for Germany are wearing the Fendt logo on their clothes for all national competitions and championships.
