Tractor registrations in 2017 –
Marktoberdorf tractors are the nation's favourite

The German Motor Vehicle Office (KBA) has released its 2017 registration figures

for tractors. 33,693 tractors (of which 23,047 are 51 hp and above) were

registered last year.

Fendt comes second in the overall tractor statistics, with 5,774 tractors, Meaning the agricultural equipment manufacturer sold 1,172 more tractors in Germany compared to 2016.

"I am delighted that the professional situation for many farmers has improved over the past year. There is also evidence of this in customers' buying behaviour," says Andreas Loewel, Head of Fendt Sales Germany. "The almost 5,800 tractors we sold have not only been built and approved, but we truly made them with the customer in mind, so they can carry out their work on the fields this year."

Fendt series also hold an outstanding position in the table "The Nation's Favourites". The specialist magazine Profi says:


"Again, this year's most popular models come from Fendt, the 724 Vario retaining the crown with 783 units sold. But Marktoberdorf's red-winged machines also bag 6 of the next 19 places." (profi 3/2018)

The top 500-series model with a rated power of 163 hp comes second.
The Fendt 313 Vario came in 3rd place. ProfiPlus version with track guidance available since 2017.
Fendt 209 Vario in winter service: a compact tractor with underfloor heating was launched in 2017.

"The Fendt 200 Vario series gets us two spots in the top 20, with models 209 and 211," says Andreas Loewel. "This shows that professional wine and fruit growers, farmers and contractors love the tractor models we make – spanning the lower, mid and top power ranges".


Compared to 2017, Fendt fared significantly better in the performance range of 201-300 hp, selling about 300 machines more.


"With its 1000 Vario, Fendt is now ruling the premier class of over 400 hp," says the specialist magazine Profi (3/2018).

Fendt also strong in Austria and Switzerland

2,621 tractors were approved last year, according to the Swiss Federal Office for Roads (Astra).


Fendt is way out in front in the registration statistics, with 341 machines.

In 2017, 5,092 new tractors were approved in Austria. 511 new tractor units were registered for use in the fruit and wine-making industry, where Fendt has again defended its market leadership with a market share of 26.42%. (eilbote 15/01/18)
