The Initiative “Transatlantic Agricultural Dialogue” brings together American and German farmers and agricultural specialists. The overriding topic was: “The future of family farms”. Part of the programme was also a visit to the Fendt tractor factory in Marktoberdorf.
The 17 delegation members from the US Federal States of Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Kentucky were very impressed by the new manufacturing and production facilities. After a tour of the factory, the US farmers were able to test the new 500 hp Fendt 1050 Vario and other Fendt tractors on the circuit in the Fendt customer centre Fendt Forum. Some had already experienced the Vario. Everyone was enthusiastic about the driving and operating comfort.

At the end of the programme, the participants discussed in-depth with the AGCO/Fendt Executive, Peter-Josef Paffen, the topics innovation, full-line offers, the US-corporation AGCO and the future plans for expansion by Fendt in the US market. Peter-Josef Paffen: “We were really excited about the visit from USA. With the new Fendt 1000 Vario we offer for the first time a tractor that is also 100 per cent suitable for the American market. The initial reports back from US farmers after the first few uses are without exception positive. Therefore, we a completely convinced that the sales numbers of Fendt tractors in North America will dramatically increase in the coming years.”
