Engine
Environmentally friendly and self-cleaning
The MAN engine in the Fendt 900 Vario impresses with a displacement of 9.0 litres, six cylinders and 4-valve technology. Fendt iD technology enables a low-speed concept in which the engine operates in the optimum speed range from 650 rpm at idle to 1700 rpm at rated speed. The turbocharger with variable turbine geometry (VTG) not only ensures efficient power delivery, but also effective engine braking.
There is also a self-cleaning air filter that cleans itself in just 30 seconds with two short bursts of air. A 12-bar compressed air tank controls the air flow via pulse and solenoid valves. This extends the service life of the filter by a factor of 10 to 15 and allows it to be cleaned while driving. The filter therefore only needs to be replaced every two years.

VarioDrive drive train
The VarioDrive drive train is a revolutionary further development of the proven Fendt Vario transmission. This offers maximum tractive power in every situation and does not require a drive range selector. The stepless traction drive enables speeds from 20 m/h to 60 km/h with reduced engine speed. The front and rear axles are operated separately and large high-performance hydrostats ensure efficient power transmission.
A particular highlight of the VarioDrive drivetrain is the pull-in turn effect. The independent control of the front and rear axles means that the tractive power is optimally distributed, which leads to a significant reduction in the turning circle. This is particularly useful in tight bends or difficult situations in the field, as it makes the tractor more agile and easier to manoeuvre.

Cab suspension
The cab suspension of the Fendt 900 Vario offers three different variants: mechanical suspension with conical suspension at the front and mechanical suspension at the rear, pneumatic suspension with conical suspension at the front and pneumatic suspension at the rear, and a comfort variant with triple pneumatic suspension.
A comfortable driving experience is ensured by the optimised cab mounting and the greater distance between the suspensions. The interplay of cab, seat and front axle suspension as well as the vibration damping on the front and rear power lift also contribute significantly to driving comfort.

Electrically adjustable comfort rear-view mirror
These mirrors are fully integrated into the vehicle electronics as LIN mirrors and can be conveniently operated via the terminal. A time function enables both mirrors to be retracted simultaneously. Position lights in the mirror housing, which are available in conjunction with the comfort mirrors (EU), ensure additional safety when turning by providing a better overview of danger zones. Mirror heating rounds off the package and ensures a clear view in all weather conditions.
Infotainment
The infotainment system of the Fendt 900 Vario offers a comprehensive electronics platform for entertainment and communication. The infotainment package comprises four integrative modules:
- a high-end hands-free kit
- highest quality radio reception worldwide
- the connection of a wide range of external audio sources
- fully integrated operation via the terminal or the rotary knob on the armrest
The sound system is available in various configuration levels. The infotainment package includes four premium speakers. From the professional version upwards, the system is extended by a 4.1 sound system, which also includes a subwoofer integrated into the soundbar. This combination ensures a first-class sound experience and maximum comfort while driving.
Reverse drive control
The optional reverse drive system of the Fendt 900 Vario allows the entire driver's platform to be turned through 180° with pneumatic support. This is particularly useful for specialised tasks such as forestry or municipal work. A practical cool box on the right-hand side is positioned at a slight angle so that it no longer needs to be removed when turning. In addition, a comfort co-driver's seat is also possible with the reversing device, which increases comfort for the passenger.

With the modular design of the hydraulic system, you have many options open to you. Regardless of the number of spools at the front or rear, the amount of oil delivered or the choice of spool coupling type. With the Fendt 900 Vario, you have the choice and can make decisions based on your needs.

The Fendt 900 Vario offers three hydraulic variants with flow rates of 165 l/min, 220 l/min or 430 l/min. In the highest version, two load-sensing pumps with separate hydraulic circuits are installed. The pilot pressure is generated via the load-sensing pump, which ensures efficiency. With a removable oil volume of 90 litres and extended hydraulic oil change intervals of up to 2,000 operating hours or 2 years, the Fendt 900 Vario is particularly maintenance-friendly and powerful.

Front power lift
The front power lift of the Fendt 900 Vario is equipped with robust lower links and a cast lower link frame. It offers an impressive lifting capacity of 5,584 daN and a continuous lifting capacity of 4,070 daN. A leakage oil container for the front connections is integrated in the cross pipe support, which ensures clean and efficient handling. The front power lift has its own hydraulic valve, which is separate from the working hydraulics. This enables precise control and increases the versatility of the tractor. An optional camera can be installed in the bonnet to facilitate the installation of implements.
