Fendt celebrates three times: expert jury and audience vote the Fendt 832 Vario and ForageQualityCam ‘Farm Machine 2026’

On Tuesday, 11 November, Fendt had three reasons to celebrate. At Agritechnica 2025, the Fendt 832 Vario received the ‘Farm Machine 2026’ award in the ‘Mid-range Tractors’ category and the ‘Audience Choice Award’. In addition, the expert jury selected the ForageQualityCam for the Fendt Katana as ‘Farm Machine 2026’ in the ‘Smart Farming & Robotics’ category.

Specialist journalists from 12 European agricultural technology magazines evaluate the technical innovations at the trade fair in 14 categories. The jury recognised the completely new development of the Fendt 832 Vario in the ‘Mid-range tractors’ category and the high customer benefit of the Fendt ForageQualityCam for the Fendt Katana in the ‘Smart Farming & Robotic’ category. With over 11,000 votes in the online poll, the Fendt 832 Vario also won the coveted ‘Farm Machine 2026 Audience Choice Award’.

"The jury's assessment shows that the completely redesigned Fendt 800 Vario has been very well received by both trade journalists and agricultural technology enthusiasts. In addition, the high number of votes for the Audience Choice Award proves that Fendt machines not only meet customer requirements in terms of technical innovation and efficiency, but also evoke strong emotions,’ says Roland Schmidt, Vice President Fendt Marketing. ‘The award for the ForageQualityCam for the Fendt Katana was an incredibly welcome surprise and confirms that we also offer innovative solutions for contractors in green forage harvesting technology that pay off,’ says the marketing manager, speaking on behalf of the entire Fendt team."

Fendt now offers an exclusive retrofit ForageQualityCam for the Fendt Katana, allowing the processing quality to be monitored directly from the forage harvester cab. The ForageQualityCam uses a camera and AI-supported image analysis to determine the quality of crop processing in real time. The camera looks at the crop flow in the discharge chute and delivers 13 images per second to an external high-performance computing unit. This analyses the quality of the grain processing based on the images using a specially trained algorithm. The analysis results are transmitted in real time to a dedicated monitor in the forage harvester cab. This allows drivers to check the quality of the grain processing and, if necessary, immediately adjust the forage harvester settings, in particular the cracker settings, to optimise the result.

The Fendt 832 Vario has been completely redesigned. It impressed the jury with technologies such as VarioDrive, the Fendt iD low-speed concept and the self-cleaning engine air filter, as well as a new cab with an innovative lighting concept.

About the Farm Machine award

The Farm Machine award (formerly Machine of the Year) has been presented every two years at Agritechnica since 1997. The 13 categories range from tractors to forage harvesting and soil cultivation to logistics. Entries are innovations that have come onto the market since the last Agritechnica. The jury consists of agricultural journalists from 12 different editorial offices in ten European countries. In the ‘Audience Choice’ category, the audience votes for their favourite in an online voting.
